Traditionally the Claddagh can be worn in one of four ways depending on the relationship status of the wearer.  It can be warn on the right hand with the heart facing the finger tip to signify that the wearer is open to a relationship. When worn on the right hand with the crown facing the finger tip, it indicates that the wearer is either in a committed relationship or not open one. Wearing it on the left hand with the heart facing the finger tip shows that the wearer is engaged.
