The Claddagh is a traditional Irish ring on which two hands representing friendship are holding onto a heart representing love which is wearing a crown representing loyalty. The Claddagh Ring Knot was designed by the Knotty Celt to be fashioned from a singe never-ending loop tied onto itself, forming the elements of the hands (friendship), the heart (love) and the crown (loyalty) of the Claddagh. Traditionally, the Claddagh can be worn in one of four ways. When worn on the right hand with the heart towards the finger tips, it indicates the wearer is single and looking for that special someone. Worn on the right hand with the crown towards the finger tips signifies the wearer is either already in a relationship or is single, but not interested in a relationship. Once the wearer is engaged, the Claddagh is worn on the left hand with the heart facing the fingertips. As part of the wedding ceremony, the Claddagh is then turned around to set the crown towards the fingertips.
